Visit to Eligro Nature Reserve

Located at the centre of a large arable farm, Eligro Nature Reserve, is an area of around 13 acres which was created in 2013 to re-establish a wetland area that was destroyed in the 1940’s in the drive to produce more food. Over 1500 native wetland trees and wildflowers were planted to help re-establish the wetland, and beavers and water vole have been reintroduced to part of the wetland area.

Join WVW and owner Colin Preece, to learn more about the site, Colin will talk to us for 45 minutes and we will then head to the hide to try to see the beavers. Bring  binoculars and/or cameras if you have them.

It is about a 10 to 15 minute walk to the hide. The visit length will vary as it will all depend on what we see, but most visits in the hide vary from around two hours or until it becomes too dark.

There is a £15 charge for this event, payable to Eligro Nature Reserve on the day. Places are limited to 13 persons to maximise our chance of seeing the beavers.

To book a place, please use the booking link here or email Louise if you have any probelms with the booking system.
